Entrance with a red carpet leading to the lodge.

Pull into the parking lot at 1251 Radio Rd and you'll likely be greeted before you even reach the door. That's the detail that shows up in reviews from members who've driven across the country and walked into Lodge #1823 for the first time. A transplant from a California lodge put it plainly: he was welcomed in the parking lot. That kind of thing doesn't happen by accident.

Charter members of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks have kept this lodge running as a genuine gathering place for Statesville and the surrounding Iredell County community. The building hosts everything from Derby Day parties to charity fundraisers, and the atmosphere earns consistent praise: good food, good people, and a room that actually feels lived-in. Rated 4.4 out of 5 by guests, the lodge has built a reputation that travels.

Elks lodges exist to serve their communities, and #1823 takes that seriously. Whether you're a longtime member, a visiting Elk from another lodge, or a guest brought in for a special event, the welcome is the same. The doors on Radio Road are open to people who want more than a venue. They want a place that means something.

What We Offer

Lodge #1823 hosts a rotating calendar of community events that keeps the social hall busy year-round. Derby Day parties, holiday celebrations, and member dinners give regulars a reason to show up every month. The kitchen turns out solid food that guests consistently mention by name, and the bar keeps things comfortable without pretense.

Beyond the social calendar, the lodge functions as a private event venue available for member-hosted gatherings, and it serves as the operational home for all Elks charitable programs in the Statesville area. Youth activities, scholarship programs, and veteran support initiatives all flow through the lodge. Members gain access to a national network of over 2,000 lodges, meaning an Elk traveling from Mission Viejo or anywhere else can walk in and feel at home.

Membership is open to U.S. citizens 21 and older who believe in God. Prospective members can visit during open events or reach out through the national elks.org portal to start the process.

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
